With the storms and heavy rains we experienced throughout February and March, everything is late this year. Bud break for the grapes has just started – normally it is early to mid-March. The peach trees are still in bloom and just now starting to turn green with their new leaves. Grass – sometimes three feet tall – is everywhere. This is the time of year that always seems a little overwhelming with all the mowing and weed-eating that needs to be done. I’ve learned to accept that we simply can’t stay on top of it all, but that we’ll catch up by June.
I am happy to report that we suffered no damage from the disastrous rains that hit Sonoma County in February and March. We do feel for the many residents and businesses in our West County communities that did experience serious losses from flooding.
